Dystans i zaangażowanie. Próba aplikacji „gramatyki kultury” do badań nad krajobrazem

Abstract

In this essay I refer to Anna Pałubicka’s concept developed in the The Grammar of European Culture and use it in the studies of the landscape to discuss whether the phenomenon and the concept of landscape can be considered as a part of this meta- order. I point out to the important role of the grammar of culture in the analysis of attitudes towards the landscape which take two forms analogous to the attitudes toward culture: distance and engagement. I also make an attempt to embed the landscape and landscape studies within the studies of culture.
