The Structure of Religious Discourse in Bocheński and Ingarden’s Ontology of Intentional Object
Abstract
The aim of this paper is an attempt to compare the structure of religious discourse, described by Bocheński in The Logic of Religion, with Ingarden’s conception of intentional objects determined by judgements. If each judgement determines some obiecti formales, then judgments related in terms of contents define the intentional space of such objects. This space can be explored and developed independently from the judgements. I delve into this idea in the paper and come to several conclusions which, I believe, may be significant for the philosophy of religion. First, however, it is necessary to recall Bocheński’s approach to the structure of religious discourse.
Keywords: religious discourse, Joseph M. Bocheński, ontology, intentional object, Roman Ingarden.
