Dialogical Truth and Compromise as a Political Category

Abstract

The subject of the article is the notion of dialogical truth considered in the context of the truth, i.e. notional confirmation of the facts, and in relation to the notion of compromise (resp. – consensus). Compromise, apart from accidental coincidence, is not identical to the notion of truth. Truth in political activities is used instrumentally. As the author maintains, the category which seems to positively meet the requirements of political life, especially democracy, is the compromise.
