Between the Past and the Present – Illusions and Expectations Held by Historians of Philosophy Nowadays
Abstract
The aim of the article is to discuss the possible way of dealing with the history of philosophy nowadays by defining some illusions and expectations held by thinkers attached to one particular way of understanding philosophy. In order to present the peculiar skills which can be used by historians of philosophy, I characterize the conception of “intellectual formations” (B. Skarga). It allows to indicate that the activity of historians of philosophy is grounded in the base of philosophical presuppositions.
