O (nie)mocy Boga – głos Hansa Jonasa
Abstract
The Power(lessness) of God – Hans Jonas’s Voice
The aim of the article is to discuss Hans Jonas’s standpoint (presented in the work The Concept of God after Auschwitz) which renounces the notion of God’s omnipotence. In order to present Jonas’s argumentation, I characterize the context of his view (particular existential experience and experimental mythical speculation). Due to Jonas the denial of the divine attribute of omnipotence must be upheld for logical reasons. I indicate the meaning of Jonas’s attempt at dealing with classical problem of attribute of God’s omnipotence.
Keywords: Hans Jonas, attribute of omnipotence, ethics of responsibility, experience of Auschwitz.
