Natura ludzka w dobie cyberbiotechnologii – problem etyczny

Mariusz Wojewoda

Abstract

This article addresses the problem of human nature in an ethical sense. In contemporary discussions in the fields of bioethics, brain science, technology assessment the notion of human nature is often used. The very concept of human nature is understood in a lot of different ways; some of the definitions stress the descriptive aspect, while others the normative one. The author analyzes in what sense human nature is the concept that: (1) determines the duties regarding interventions in human body and mind; and (2) appoints the limits for the interventions of this type, i.e. what should not be done in view of human welfare and the natural environment.
